Every school ride, live and accounted for.
SchoolTransit links the school office, the driver, and families in one flow: live GPS every 30 seconds, a be-ready alert when the van is 1 km away, monthly fee tracking, and a parent map that opens only while their child is on board.

Concrete numbers, not vague promises
One trip, tracked stage by stage.
Every ride moves through the same six stages. Alerts fire automatically at each threshold — no phone calls, no group chats. Missed pickups are marked clearly, and drivers can flag a child as still on board.

Built for real routes.
The details that make daily transport work: round trips, Google Maps with live traffic, hardware trackers, and dark mode for night driving.
Morning + evening legs
Home-to-school in the morning, school-to-home in the evening — each leg with its own times, queue, and alerts.
Installable PWA
Add to your home screen on iPhone or Android. Live maps, routes, and traffic ETAs need a data connection.
Phone GPS or hardware tracker
Drivers stream from any phone, or a GPS unit can post to the GPS API. Positions also stream over SSE.
Announcements that reach everyone
Admins broadcast route changes or reminders to parents, drivers, or a single vehicle — mirrored to phone trays.
Issue reporting with presets
Drivers log breakdowns, traffic, or delays in two taps. Frequent presets rise to the top; issues pin to the map for 3 hours.
Dark mode + driver HUD
Full dark theme across the app, plus a fullscreen heads-up display that keeps the van phone awake and readable.
Stalled-driver safety alerts
If a van stops 20+ minutes away from home and school, admins get a red map alert — call the driver, notify parents, or navigate there.
Per-child last-seen log
Admins see every child’s best-known location and time: driver GPS while moving, pickup or drop-off otherwise.

Frequently asked
Straight answers for schools, drivers, and families.
Create an account as a driver or family — or sign in with a demo account above to explore first. Schools handle child and pickup setup.
Get startedWhen can families see the ride?
Only while their child is in transit — between pickup and school drop-off. Before pickup and after delivery the map rests, and each family sees only their own children.
What happens if we miss the pickup?
The driver marks the child as not picked, the family gets a clear notification, and the school can coordinate the next step. Statuses stay visible so nobody is left guessing.
Will it work on my phone?
Yes — open SchoolTransit in your browser and add it to your home screen on iPhone or Android. Live maps and traffic ETAs need a data connection, and alerts appear in the phone tray as well as the app.
How much does SchoolTransit cost?
Drivers pay Ksh 100 per assigned child per month by default — see the Pricing page. Each school’s admin can adjust the rate and publishes Paybill, Till, or bank details; drivers pay the school and log the receipt in the app.
How do school transport fees work?
Each driver sets a monthly fee per child and collects payments directly, logging every receipt code and month in the app. Parents see fee, paid, and balance in their dashboard, and admins monitor every record.
How does our school get an admin account?
Contact the SchoolTransit team on +254 708 845 848 (call/WhatsApp). A prime admin sets up your school’s admin account, which then manages children, drivers, routes, and subscriptions.
Can two parents follow the same child?
Yes. A child can have multiple parents attached — for example in shared custody — and each gets their own alerts and live view.
Can the van use a GPS tracker instead of a phone?
Yes. A tracker or device can post positions to the GPS API, and the driver dashboard picks them up like any other stream — live positions are also available over SSE.
